After enjoying the Da Vinci Code it was inevitable that i would come to watch the newest release. Angels and Demons.

Unfortunatly before coming to rent this i had already spotted some negative reviews scattered about the internet and i suppose it brought my expectations down.

Though i can honestly say for me it didn't let me down at all. I will admit it didn't make as much of an impact as the da vinci code but it was gripping nevertheless.

Ewan McGregor should of been played by a lesser known actor, not saying his acting wasn't top notch because of course it was but the way it plays out didn't surprise as much as i thought it would even though shamefully i have never read the books.

Another thing i love about these films is i find them quite fast paced and nothing slows down enough for you to get bored. The filming is well done and the acting is superb.

The film follows Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) who is summoned to rome which on a matter of urgency which happens to coincide with the popes funeral. A group called the Illuminati, which protested the Catholic Church's prosecution of scientists 400 years ago, has resurfaced and is making extreme and threatening demands.

Another thing i have to add, is Ayelet Zurer's acting is spot on and i think she was an excellent choice for this film.

Overall if you enjoyed the da vinci code i am sure you will enjoy this.
